“I’m so happy I found Alicia – even as a second-time mother, it can be hard to prepare for the changes to your postpartum mind and body, let alone find the time after baby arrives. Working with Alicia not only gave me dedicated time, but also helped me feel more connected and confident in my recovery.“
“Before deciding to work with Alicia, I was under the impression that my post-baby body was ‘as good as it was going to get.’ Despite getting back to a very regular exercise routine, things just didn’t work like they did before and I felt resigned that no one could help me address it. I didn’t know there were any experts out there like Alicia that dealt with these very specific issues. Within the first few minutes of working with her, I knew I was in good hands and have since recommended her to multiple mom friends.“
“Before working with Alicia I felt confused by the information (and lack thereof) out there about postpartum care. I felt frustrated that my body was not working the way I had remembered.
After working with Alicia, I felt stronger because I started to recover. I felt more connected to myself and my body, understanding how it worked. It’s a shame there is such a lack of information and otherwise so much misinformation on postpartum care. I’m so glad Alicia decided to create this program to help women everywhere who need it.“
“The expectation for women to get up and feel fine after childbirth, especially after a subsequent birth, is overwhelming. Even if you know that you don’t feel fine, the pressure to pretend that having a baby shouldn’t be cause to slow down is daunting. Alicia gave me confidence that I would again feel strong, or could even feel stronger, even if my body would not be the same. After receiving Alicia’s support and guidance, I felt stronger and more connected to my body. I would advise that any postpartum woman learn from Alicia for the simple reason of having a better connection and understanding of her physical self.“
I want every woman to feel at home in her body, in the body that brought life into this world.
Pregnancy and birth is often the biggest event a woman’s body goes through and you deserve to know how to fully heal and take care of yourself so you can show up fully as the woman you are, for yourself, for your family and for your community. I am honored to be your guide on your postpartum healing journey.
I’m worried I do not have the time for the program
What I do know for sure is that time will never be gifted to you. There will never be time and no one but you can make time for yourself. I know because time is my biggest struggle as well so I’ve crafted this program to be delivered in bite size chunks. You can watch the videos on your own time and even as you are multi-tasking while making dinner, feeding baby, sitting in your parked car alone at the grocery store (I know I’m not the only one that does this, right?!).
I will also be giving you some tried and true tips in the first video on how to set yourself up for success in the time department.
What if I don’t get through the content in 6 weeks?
You will have all of the content accessible to you for one year after the 6 weeks has finished so you can revisit all of it or just specific modules on your own time.
I had my baby 6 years ago. Is this program still appropriate for me?
Whether you had a baby 6 weeks ago or 16 years ago: once you are postpartum, you are always postpartum. It is never too late to learn this information and reconnect to your body, especially if you are still experiencing undesired symptoms since giving birth.
Will this program be useful if I am already back to exercising more intensely?
Many women jump back into exercise before they have activated and strengthened their deeper core muscles. I see this all the time in my practice. If you haven’t taken the time to slow down and reconnect to these deeper muscles, then you might be using a compensation strategy to do your more intense exercises, which sets you up for a risk of injury. Taking this time to really build up your foundation will make your current exercises more effective and decrease risk of injury later.
Will this treat my pelvic floor dysfunction or diastasis?
I hope so, but no one can ever guarantee a treatment of a medical condition from an online program. No one. So I won’t promise that because that would be ingenuous. What I can tell you is that what you will learn is the information I use to address ALL postpartum conditions that I see in my clinical practice so while I cannot guarantee you full “treatment” of a medical condition, I can guarantee that if you fully go through the program and do all of the work, you will benefit.
Is this a fitness routine?
No. This program is not a fitness program because postpartum wellness is so much more than how fit the internet says you are. While there are exercises in this program that focus on your muscles, the focus is to restore your muscles to their adaptive, reflexive and supportive nature more than muscle building. While getting stronger is the result, this will not feel like bootcamp-type exercises. There are plenty of fitness routines out there on the web, this program addresses so much more than how strong you are. No promises of losing inches or fitting into your skinny jeans – just promises of feeling more connected to yourself, your muscles, your sexuality and information for life long health as a woman.
“Working with Alicia helped bring awareness of my body mechanics, restored the confidence I’d lacked in helping heal myself, and gave me the motivation to engage in exercises that would further strengthen my body. Feeling empowered with the knowledge to once again, reclaim my body after such a major undertaking such as pregnancy, was transformative. Alicia treats the whole patient, understanding the deep connection between mind and body.”
“I found Alicia when I was 11 years postpartum, trucking along with yoga, dance, and TRX classes – with a severe diastasis that finally caught up with me as low back pain. A friend recommended Alicia and I learned more about pelvic floor health from her than from ANY of the doctors I had seen about my diastasis over the years. I was excited by her passion to help mothers and her level of expertise. I had no idea how dysfunctional my core had been and Alicia guided me on a strength and stretching routine that has me back to doing what I love! My core has never been stronger and my back feels great.”
“Before working with Alicia, I felt anxious and also too scared to resume any sort of exercise lest I set myself back from recovery. Immediately, I felt more empowered to take charge of my recovery while staying attuned to feedback from my body as I did the exercises she recommended. After I was done working with her, I felt confident returning to weightlifting, yoga, and running with a better understanding of what to pay attention to with my physical form and breath. She helped me overcome my anxiety about setting myself back and helped me feel more connected to and at home in this ever-changing body. I am so grateful for her expertise and ongoing encouragement. Alicia is a true gem as a pelvic floor physical therapist and as a human, and I would highly recommend working with her no matter what stage of life – pregnant, newly postpartum, several years postpartum, or none of the above – you are in.“
“Alicia is a professional, knowledgeable pelvic floor specialist who developed my plan for recovery before and after the birth of my second (and last) son. She has the keen ability to pin point and diagnose the problem(s), breakdown the knowledge necessary to communicate your personal situation, and then align the most effective strengthening and treatment regime. She’s completely prepared and makes the best use of your time both at her appointments and during recommended at-home trainings.”
